nurses

Our wonderful Valentine baby Alle turns two weeks old this morning.  I am so grateful  for a healthy baby and Mama. Anna  looks great and is such a good  mom  to our  precious  little Olivia and her baby sissy.  I am reminded  how much  I  love nurses.  They are the  heart and soul of the hospital.  It was a nurse that realized that even though it was 4:00, the big sister really needed to see her mom and meet her new sissy.  It was a nurse that realized that a Granny needed to see the new little one before leaving town for 10 days.  When Clint was a baby, it was nurses that taught me how to feed  a baby after cleft lip surgery and helped me stand up to a room full of Doctors that said he should drink out of a shot glass.  When Drew had his many hospital stays, the nurses took great care of us and even showed me where the stash of snacks were for mid night snacks.  It was a nurse that came when he would wake up scared if I had walked out for a quick bite during naps.  During all of my deliveries the nurses did all the work and the Doctors came in for the catch.  When Mark had his heart attack the nurses on the cardiac floor where wonderful and took such good care of Mark and cheered him on as he recovered.  I have a friend that I call one shot Marie, for her ability to get the I.V.  in my arm with rolling veins. I love nurses and appreciate all that they go through to get their license and  what they do during though times in the life of their patients.

I heart radio

I got a new phone last week and apparently the I heart radio attachment is talking to my facebook account.  I have no idea how that happens as I do not know how to use the Iheart radio on my phone.  So, being the Hightech mama that I am I will just have to apologize to anyone  who is offended by any songs that show up on my face book.

coming home

We have only been in Florida for 9 days, but it seems longer than that this time.  We had a great selling trip and enjoyed our Retirement resort.  This is the last night that I go to sleep with a bright fake palm tree shining in my window....I think a really good salesman came to the community selling artificial palm trees .  We played our last game of pool for a while. We treated ourselves to supper at Beef o Bradys while Walmart replaced  2 tires on the van so that we can make it home.  Drew has invited the kids and grandkids for supper tomorrow night and is cooking supper to welcome us home.  Every time that I miss the babies, I look at the pictures on my phone.  I really like having a chef and a photographer in the family. Praying for a save trip home driving Freedom 2 and the old van back to Georgia.

Going green

Sara would be so proud of us.  Last weekend we traded a table of lower-end  merchandise for 4 boxes of canvas shoppping bags to  give away with purchases at our shows.  Our customers really seem to like them.

Trip sightings

We have spent a lot of time in Florida this year and we are enjoying the sights.  One day we saw a man walking a goose on a leash.  The next day we saw a little dog in a pink outfit with little pink sun glasses.  We saw the wind and rain coming and had to go back and tie our tent to the van so that our stuff would not blow away..  We saw sky divers and Mark saw coming down fast and had to pull his emergency shoot.  We saw very cool old  cars that Phillip and Riley would love. Today I saw on older 80ish couple walking arm in arm, still in love after all these years.  And every time that I need a pick me up I look at the pictures  on my new  phone.  Speaking of my phone.  We finally gave in and got an I phone 4.  The lady at the store showed me how do use it for every application except how to use it like a phone.

retirement community

Mark and I are in a retirement R.V. community and they have entirely too much fun.  The first night we played shuffle board with Walt and Cheryl.  They  taught us the rules and etiquette of the game.  We played pool the 2nd night while we watched a large group play some kind of card game.  We finished working today and hit the pool.  Every where you look , you see couples walking or riding bikes, speaking to every one. they pass.,  Tonight is Bingo night.  Our neighbor walked over and told us where to go for fish on Friday night.   The car show is a 4 day event and it is hot, but in the evening we always have something to look forward,  I am telling you what... this pre retirement week makes me not dread getting old....er so much.  Gives us something to look forward to.in the future when we get tired of traveling around buying and selling stuff..

Mixed up holidays

These year Christmas was homecoming for the Fleetwood family.  We spent January at  Daytona beach with the Grandkids and  Valentine day was thanksgiving day for us with a healthy baby and mama.  We are so happy to have Allene join our family and thank God every day for her and her big sister.  Every time things get rough, I look and the picture of Olivia peeking at her new baby and smile.

February exhaustion

We finished January with a bang. Friday the 20th the parental units picked up Becca and Riley.  We hit the floor running with a show at Rennigers, for the weekend, Monday at Webster, Tuesday at Zephryhills, Wednesday at Stokes, Thursday in Inverness . Then  back to Rennigers and Webster the following Monday. We got home Monday night to another home cooked meal by Drew and got to see the grand babies. Tuesday,  I had  Bible Study and Mark had a  Dentist Appt.  Then, we went to Boston to check out an Antique store going out of business. We bought all of the glass out of it  and started  cleaning out three rooms.  We worked all day Wednesday, nearly working Drew to death, going up and down stairs. Thursday, we finished the store and headed straight to Spence field  to set up for the Auto Swap meet. Then we went home and sorted and priced stuff until bedtime.  Friday, we worked all day at the show, came home and priced more stuff.  The Grands spent the night with us on Friday.  Saturday,  we were  back at  the Auto show  and went  by and picked up Riley and his best friend to spend the night.  I am not sure that Mark  worked this hard when he was employed.  The  thing is, we really enjoy it and will continue doing this until we get tired of doing it.
