Travel treasures

Mark retired 9 months ago from a 30 year career. While he was gainfully employed we traveled a lot.  Mark won trips to many places all over the world.  We were really blessed.  Now, that  he his retired we are traveling all over the U.S.A in Freedom 1 and Freedom and a van with all of the seats taken out to make room for stuff. We started a business buying and selling antique glass and pottery as an excuse to travel. Freedom 1 and Freedom 2 are the names of our 2 1985 R.V/'s.  They are old and have problems, and have to go see the "Doctors" on Mondays after most trips, just like us but we love them.  Our business is called Travel Treasures, it turns out that the treasure is the travel and the people that  we meet and the many times that God takes care of us just when we need help in what some people would call coincidences.  I don't believe in coincidences. They are what I call many mini blessings that God does for us every day.  It is up to us to notice them and to thank God for them. I will attempt to tell some of stories of what happens to us as we travel.  Since retirement, we spent 18 days in 15 states traveling and buying in the New England states in July.  We are already plannin to go back this July for our 34 anniversary.  We spent most of August heading toward Denver Colorado to visit our son. Almost every weekend of the Fall months we were at festival selling stuff. Our adult children would probably like to commit us , but the can only find us by cell phone.  We do come home from time to time so that we can get hugs from our precious redheads,  We have three beautiful grand babies which is what draws us back home.  December we stayed  home for two weeks to do all of the family holiday things.  But on January 1 we back at an auction to buy stuff.  We even stayed up until after midnight because we were baby sitting Becca and Riley and pricing stuff for our next sell.  We spent two week in central Florida camping, buying selling, with two quality days in Deland while Freedom 2 had to have a transmission transplant.  We are very experienced at being broke down.  This is what we do.  We have fun. The first night we stayed at the station in our R.V. and checked out Deland.  We found a bowling alley, stores and even a donut shop.  The next night we checked into a nice hotel where I took a hot bath at night and the next morning, ate a breakfast that I did not cook and went for a long walk.  We walked toward the airport and watched sky diving.  When we got back Freedom was ready and we got back on the trail looking for stuff to buy and sell.  We are home now planning our next escape. We have 2 of the redheads here tonight and will have the other one here tommorow,  We have the best of both world.  Granny and Granddaddy one day and travelers the next.  Monday  was suppose to be a stay home day. Mark was cleaning carport and I was washing tons of clothes from the Florida trip.  Drew calls.  He is our number child who has just moved from Denver to Savanna and needs some furniture for his new apartment.  He wants to drive home and return in time for work.  Mark has a better idea, we pack and meet him half way in Waycross.  On the way we buy a dresser to go with the bed, bike, two tables, lamp blankets, chair and other items that we think he may need to get started. We get there in plenty of time for Mark to take a nap, while I read, get up take a long walk and pick up chinese for supper.  Drew makes it to the hotel just in time to eat and get back in the car and go to a small auction that we found  on a monday night.  Next morning we get up at 5:30 eat breakfast with Drew and make back to Moultrie in plenty of time for my Bible study group after stopping by my daughter studio and my son's church to drop off things that we bought at the auction.  That is what we call a 24 hour retirement day.  We have learned that we may not be able to add more time to our life, but we can add more life to our time. Try to bless someone everyday and you will be blessed.  Happy traveling from a fellow traveler in this journey called life.
