I surrender all

I am reading a lot of books this summer.  This one  is Believer and Rejoice.  It is about the joy of a personal relationship with God.  It uses an old-fashion word, relinquish which means to abandon, surrender or let go.
The word surrender reminds me of the old hymn that was played at the tent revival in Madison when I went down the aisle to become a child of God at age eight.

I surrender all
I surrender all
all to Him
 my precious Savior
I surrender all

All to Jesus, I surrender
all to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him,
in His presence daily live

There is more to the song, but you get the point.  Here it is 40 something years later and I am still struggling with the first promise that I gave Him in song.  There a lot of dedication songs  like " Just as I am," and " Trust and obey",  and "I surrender All".
Just the titles are enough to challenge us.   So, I guess our challenge for today is to read His Word and Sing to Him. But to make sure we listen to the words of the songs we sing and really mean what we sing.  This is coming from a girl that can not sing, but my can praise and worship my precious Savior.
