How do you hold a baby?

Today I talked to my Mom about having trouble holding my grandchildren with the broke left  elbow.  I always hold babies on my left hip so that I can use my right hand to do whatever else I need to do.  Mom told me that she always holds a baby on her right hip because when she is holding a baby that is all that she wants to do.  That's my Mom.
