Mark and I had a great weekend. We met a lot of nice people, made a little money and had some new experiences. We were blessed by some chain of events that happened.
Mark bought a set of pink pyrex that would have been worth a lot of money, but were faded by being put in the dish washer. His thought was, maybe an artist can make them pretty. I was walking back from the R.V., when I saw a beautiful family with a handicap adult child in a wheel chair walking away from our booth with that set of dishes. When I asked Mark about them, he told me that he had given the girl a glass slipper that she had admired. The mother told him that he did not know what he had done. She knows that she is a princess and now she has her glass slipper. When he mentioned that he thought the pink pyrex could be restored by an artist, they smiled and said that this young lady is an artist. He sold them the dishes just about a cost.
We really enjoyed the horse show this weekend and when we found out it was a benefit for breast cancer , I placed bids on several silent auction items. One of the items that I bought at the silent auction was a hand made pink ribbon throw rug. I knew that I could sell it at a profit. The next day, I saw a lady wearing a pink ribbon shirt. I asked her if she got the shirt at the horse show. She said that her sister had given her the shirt because she was a breast cancer survivor. Then she told me that she had one more test to see if she was cancer free. I knew that I was not going to make any money one that shirt. I gave her the shirt and asked her name so that I could pray for her. Help me pray for Shirley. After we hugged, that brief encounter was over and I will probably never see her again. But I was blessed by that quick encounter.
Mark and I will never get rich in this business, but what a blessing we receive every week by the people we meet.
