Last day of the Antique extravaganza. I am in the front selling stuff and giving out necklaces to little ones as that walk by. A little girl walks by with her Daddy/Grand dad, not sure which. I ask him if I can give her a necklace. She is in jeans and sparkly shirt and vest with a tiara on her head. She walked over and looked through all of the colorful beads and picks out the silver one that matches her outfit, I told her she had good taste and that her ensemble was coming together nicely. She grin, looked pleased and told me thank you.
In the back Mark was dealing with a tall striking lady with short perfect hair and sun glasses. She looked so put together, her ensemble was perfect....I did not make the connection. Mark sold her a punch bowl and asked me how much we could take off of her second punch bowl. They struck a deal and I went back to work in the front.
I heard the lady scream from the back, " Mark Fleetwood". I looked back to see Mark hugging this beautiful lady. She took off her glasses. I realized that this was Jenny Fleetwood, Mark's first cousin and a child hood play mate. Back then , she had long brown hair. Because Mark's Daddy had died over thirty years ago, they had not seen each other in decades. Her daddy was Mark's daddy's brother and the man Mark was named after.
The customers were watching this family reunion. They talked for a while, catching up on family news. I could tell that Mark was stunned. Jenny told us that we would have been even more confused if we met her with her daughter. Because, after her children had grown up, she and her husband had adopted a little girl from Haiti Her family walked up, it was my little girl with the perfect ensemble. She gave her "new" cousin Mark a High -five. I told her that, now that were we kin folks, she needed to pick out more jewelry. So, while the adults talked, she picked out an orange bracelet and necklace that matched perfect.
We exchanged information, Jenny called her sister to tell her and we plan to see each other in February.

The whole armor of God leads to victory
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil.
1) Stand and put on the Belt of truth.
Know truth, know God. God is truth ..believe God. You are a child of God. Believe that God loves you and you will not fall for the lies of the Devil, the Father of lies.
2) Put on the breastplate of righteousness
Protect your heart. God knows what is best for us and only wants the best for His children. Obey His will for your life and you will do what is right. Guard your heart.
3) Put on your shoes and be ready to share the gospel of peace.
It is important to be prepared, then ask God daily for an opportunity to share the good new of Jesus. Something else to think about. Shoes protect. The devil is like a thorn in the foot. But we can crush him every time we present the gospel. The devil loves to keep us so self absorbed and busy that we are vulnerable. Do not under estimate the Devil, just be prepared.
4) The shield of faith
Faith in God's love, the blood of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit is our shields that protects us from the fiery darts of the devil. Satan loves to tell us lies and make us doubt God's love for us, which brings us to a very important defensive weapon.
5) The helmet of Salvation
To protect our mind, after all that is the battlefield. Are we filling our mind with mindless entertainment that open us up to the attack by the enemy or with the word of God which is our best offensive weapon. Read Philippians 4:8
6) The sword of the Spirit - the word of God.
This is our offensive weapon to use against our enemy , the devil. "That word have I hid in my heart, that I may not sin against thee."
Jesus is our best example. When He was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to the tempted by Satan for 40 days, He used scripture to defeat him and send Him away.
7) Prayer
We are to pray at all time in the Spirit. Pray with out ceasing with an attitude of prayer that leads to a victorious life. Pray.
We can have an abundant life which is pleasing to God by putting on the whole armor of God daily.

Put on the whole armor of God...daily
During our study this week, we were asked to turn to Ephesian 6:10-18 and to meditate on these verses. I have always liked these verses and tried to memorize them so that I can start each day by putting on the Whole armor of God to protect myself from the wiles of the devil. So, I came up with this cheer or song or exercise to try every day early in the morning. I will show it to my Tuesday ladies and see if they like it.
Here it goes. Follow directions and imagine you are getting ready for your day.
{Hands on Hips}
Belt of Truth
{Hands crossed on chest}
Breast plate of Righteousness
{Touch your shoes}
shoes on - gospel prepared
{Fist holding shield in front}
Shield of Faith
{Hands on head}
Helmet of Salvation
{Extent arm pointing sword}
sword of the spirit
{Extent other hand to form open bible}
which is the word of God
{Bring hands in and fold in prayer}
and pray..pray without ceasing
Repeat until you know motions and what part of God;s armor they represent.

flea market society
There is a society called flea markets dealers. We see each other at shows, discuss the best places to go, and buy and sell to each other. Often, we can not remember each others names, but we know what you sell and what shows you do. We are from different states and back grounds but we all love selling stuff and traveling.
Our side door neighbor is a gator fan with chairs and sweat shirts to prove it. Our back door neighbor is a Seminole and a practical joker who left a Seminole car tag on the Gator R.V. door. When he got caught, he said that he could not resist. A dealer down the hill was selling tags. When he saw him with his FSU sweat shirt, the dealer told him that FSU tags were $2.00 but gator tags were $25.00. A great marketer indeed.
All day we all fought the wind and watched tents fly and heard dishes crash and lamented to each other about our lost pieces. I felt blessed that we only lost two pieces today. We had a good sale and got along with the neighbors by bending to their request to move a few tables a few inches. Mark is such a diplomat that he can smooth over all kind of problems and make them go away.
We had a great supper. We split a steak and had potatoes, peas and the best vine ripen tomatoes ever given to us by our neighbors. We took a walk after supper to check out our booth.
We ran into an impromptu party in Preston's tent, lit up by a generator. He has a huge tent full of very unusual items. I told them that they were having entirely too much fun. They had moved a few tables around and had set up a pool table on the dirt. Tomorrow, that table may sell, but Preston said that they can not pick it up until Monday. We watch for a while and the winner asked who was next. Mark told them that I could play. I lost, but I did make my first shot and a few other good shots and impressed them with a behind the back shot. That is what happens when you are raise with four brothers and a Daddy that played.
We stood around and talked for a while about our day. Suddenly the party was over. The generator cut off and all of the lights went out. Everyone headed back to their home away from home. After all, it was
7:30 and we all have a big day tomorrow selling stuff.

wet wet wet
The walls are wet, the floor is wet, the bath mat is wet. My shirt is soaked, but Alle had her first successful bath at my house ever. Olivia was is in the bath tub and Alle crawled up to check it out. The temperature must have been perfect, the water level was pretty high. I picked her up, undressed her and put her in and held on to her as her sister splashed and she started giggling. I held her as she started splashing and laughing and getting her face wet and not getting upset and playing for at least 15 minutes. I even washed Olivia's hair with one hand and held Alle. with the other. Every other Alle bath at our house has been a one minute struggle with her crying until you quickly washed and dried her. SUCCESS

Riley man
Riley is spending the night with us tonight. Late this afternoon Carrie called with plans that came up at the last minute. So, we get to have Riley here for a visit.
So far, he has been to a moving sale where he found another scooter and knee pads, and an auction, where we did not find anything, so we left early. He and Grand daddy are watching Alaskan gold mining show and try to see who can eat the most gold fish.
He just said a sentence that makes me realize why I love boys so much. We saw a commercial about Walmart and he said that he would not go back there for a hair cut. This is the sentence that he said like it was an every day occurrence." I had to get a hair cut at Walmart because we were in a hurry to go somewhere and I had gum in my hair." He finished by saying the hair cut was fine, but she put hair spray and gel in my hair. Love our one and only grandboy.
Tomorrow, we will be looking for yard sales. Later, we will pick up all of the girls to spend tomorrow night with us. The main reason to come home is to see these precious grands. I don't think the parents mind sharing them with us when we are home.

Daddy
Daddy loved being a Daddy. He loved kids, all six of us and all of our friends and cousins, and he wanted grandchildren...lots and lots of grandchildren. He only got to know a few of them before he died, barely making it into his 50,s. He died 30 years ago today. Mark and I are both a lot older than he ever got to be.
He had jet black hair and the blue blue eyes with those laugh lines around his eyes that I loved to see when he smiled. He never got the chance to grey except for a little around the sideburns.
He was fun and spontaneous. We never knew what he was going to do. He was a very involved Daddy in a generation when that was unusual. He was booster club president and never missed a game. He played and was coached soft ball for city teams. I was his bat girl before I was old enough to play and his baby girl until the day he died. He called Barb and I doodle and doodle bug. As long as he was alive, I always felt beautiful because he told me that I was, often, even when I was barefoot and pregnant.
He played games with us in the front yard..that does not look nearly as big now as it did back then. He took us fishing and swimming at the sand bar below blue springs. He also discovered Dekle beach, where we spent every summer.
We did not have A/C in our Florida home. He would come into our room at night and kill the mosquitoes that slipped through the screen of our open windows. Some times, he would ask all of us kids if we wanted to go for a ride in the station wagon with A/C to cool off. Somehow, he always had buckets in there so that we could stop and pick black berries. Of course, more went into the mouths than the buckets. Yard cleaning day was always a family project with as much fun as work.
We lived in the same house for most of my school years. It was right next to the school which was very convenient for a large family of kids. Our home was the place to go after school and all were welcomed. This house had 15 foot ceilings. The last year that I lived at home Daddy got us a 15 foot tree because he knew that I loved real big Christmas trees. He nailed it to the floor and tied it with fishing line to the windows. Daddy loved Christmas and could be found under the tree messing with the presents. He would love the chaos of Christmas at the Waller home now with children all over the place.
Daddy was the one that got me my first job, my first car and the first one to tell me that I was in love with Mark.... which I denied because I was so young. Mama spoiled him rotten and taught me all that I know about marriage. Daddy taught all of us to love life and to enjoy every day that we are blessed with. A lesson that Mark and I try to adhere to every day...................Love you Daddy

Daddy
I just talked to Mom on the phone. Today our Daddy has been gone for thirty years. I have always had a hard time remembering if it was was the tenth or eleventh that he died. Now I know why. Mama told me that all of the official papers say it was the eleventh, after midnight, but Mom says that she knows that she lost him on the tenth. I got the phone call at 2:30 a.m. and Mom asked if she could speak to Mark, so that he could hold me while he told me. And he did.

Love these girls
After bible study, I picked Olivia up from PK and took her home. She is a delight to listen to on the way home. When we came into the house, Miss Alle walked a few steps to me for a hug. Her first steps were during Christmas for every one to see. Then Olivia got a little jealous and came over for lots of group hugs. As I was walking out the door Olivia gave me one of her suckers to give to Granddaddy," to make him feel better". I heard Alle crying as I was leaving and Clint saying "I want my Granny", speaking for our little sweet- heart. Love these baby girls.
together again
I really enjoyed our Bible study group today. We spend the first hour and half catching up on each others lives. I was amazed by some of the conversations. We talked about football, and hunting. I told them that this is not the conversation that I expected from a ladies group. So, we changed the subject to family and holiday activities and all of our ailments. We had plenty of prayer request.
Then we watched the CD to start our next study.....Nehemiah. We discussed sewing more dresses and shorts for children as a continual mission project. And we are planning a retreat for May. This is a great group of ladies and I enjoy each one of them.
It is not to late to join us on Tuesday mornings at 9:30. Next week after study, we will have a snack lunch and sew for a while. By the way, you do not have to know how to sew. You can cut or fold or iron or put ribbons in or just keep us in water and snacks. There is a job for every one and a few giggles and fun.

Home again..not water
We are home. The first thing that we noticed was a sound of the hot water heater. Then we noticed that we have no water. So we had to go to neighbors house to borrow water in a couple of five gallon buckets. In the morning Mark goes to the dentist to see what to do about this pain he has endured for the last few days. I will go to bible study and wait for a phone call if he needs me, Then we have to see about getting water. Life is never dull around here. Keep us in your prayers.
