My son's daughter

When Clint was young , He was my  strong-willed child...very stubborn.  As he matured, his stubbornness evolved into patience which reaped him some of  the  best  blessings of his life.  His is now married with two beautiful daughters.

His oldest is Olivia and will be three years old in three weeks.  Yesterday, she was at the house.  We took the grandchildren to pick peaches and then to the play ground.

When we got back to the house, I asked Uncle Drew  to cut her up a peach while Mark and  I were cooking supper.  When he handed her the plate of peaches, we casually told her to say thank you,  She is usually very good about saying please and thank you.  But at this time she had made up her mind that she did not want to do it.  We told her again to say thank you... she stood there looking at all of us, deciding her best plan of action.  She ran toward me and grabbed my leg for me to pick her up and save her from having to do such a terrible thing.  So, I picked her up and whispered in her to her that she knew that she had the power to make people happy by saying please and thank you.  I could tell it was not doing any good, so we placed the peaches in the fridge and placed  her on the couch where sat, look at us and thought. Drew went to take a shower.  Every once in a while , she would ask me," where is Uncle Drew"?. When she saw him, she would just look at him and think.

Every one began to arrive for supper. While we finished  supper,  the guys  sat around the pit and talked. Olivia and  I went outside to call them in for supper.  Olivia asked me one more time," where is Uncle Drew"?.  When she found him, she walked right up to him and said, " thank you for the peaches.  So, Olivia had peaches with her supper.  Later that night she said to me," I say please and thank you".

Love that girl..... My son's daughter.
